I've been into Yu-Gi-Oh for a long time, and the one thing that got me into it was the TCG. The first time I saw the Yu-Gi-Oh card game was when I was going on my Pokemon card buying run. "Hmmm", I said, "maybe Yu-Gi-Oh is easier to play then Pokemon... I can't even figure out Pokemon's rules". I buy a Yugi and Kaiba starter deck, go home, and duel my dad. Yes, this was probably my most stupid time in Yu-Gi-Oh - those Version 1 rulebooks were so difficult they had must have been translated by some French guy, but I finally got a hold on the game. So the time goes by a bit and I see the Yu-Gi-Oh TV show. "Cool!" I say and watch the whole Duelist Kingdom arc as Pokemon got into their stupid 250 Pokemon nonsense (I will never admit that there are more then 151 Pokemon) Soon after watching Duelist Kingdom I say that it was stupid that they used some messed up rules of the game. But continued to watch season 2 as the show got better now somewhere at the end of that arc I found a huge surprise Yu-Gi-Oh manga. I found it was a season of Yu-Gi-Oh never made into English thanks to J.D.'s site and the Internet. So what does all this T.V. stuff have to do about the TCG you ask? Just recently
Yu-Gi-Oh the original show stops getting played around here and Yu-Gi-Oh GX pops
it's ass out of no where. I hate Yu-Gi-Oh GX and I now think of it as the 250
Pokemon thing. Why does that matter you say? Well around the time they made 250
Pokemon. I got fed up with Pokemon and joined Yu-Gi-Oh and sadly I think I'm
slowly getting off of Yu-Gi-Oh too. I have not bought a pack of Yu-Gi-Oh TCG for
awhile. People around here only play traditional format so the deck I have needs
no changing seeing how UED has basically never wanting too see traditional
format ever again. But what am I going into now you say? Magic: The Gathering.
Yes Magic is now getting the money yu-gi-oh once got I got a few decks and
having fun 3'd rock from the sun. But this is just one guy’s opinion. I'm sure
Yu-Gi-Oh TCG will still get my love for along time to come, but it will die out
and I'm sure I'm going to turn into a full time magic player. But for now I’m
sure everything is going to be alright...as long as I get my manga fix and as
long as the little kids get their stupid Yu-Gi-Oh GX crap.
