June 16, 2006 at 12:25 PM EDT For the first time in a month or so, Say Hello to My Little Friend... otherwise known as Japanese Episode 247 / English Episode 218, The Final Journey.  And, as the new PowerPoint 2007 banner says, there will be a new comparison for the final saga every Friday until July 14, 2006, when the final episode will be compared.  After this, I plan to jump around a bit to Battle City and that saga, maybe dabble in some DOOM... but for now, look forward to fresh comparisons of the Ceremonial Battle saga every Friday!

After reading, discuss this comparison on our message boards!

JD- New comparisons, new comparisons!

June 14, 2006 at 10:45 AM EDT Unless you are living in a hole somewhere, you know that our new featured analysis, Nintendo DS vs. PSP is up, with Alan Tse to help add some backuppage.  Yeah.

Anyway, click one of the huge banners I made with PowerPoint 2007 or just click this link:

Nintendo DS vs. Sony PSP: A Featured Analysis with John D'Adamo and Alan Tse

JD- Happy reading!

June 13, 2006 at 6:20 PM EDT

Well, tomorrow is the big day.  The brand new DS vs. PSP analysis will be out for all eyes and ears, with some special guest opinions to follow up my review.  It really will be one of the biggest things this site has ever seen so far, as I poured out my creative energies (and my digital camera battery) making it.  I really hope all of you will enjoy it.

To prepare you for the big day, I want to show you another analysis I composed, The Rise of Abraham Lincoln, my first ever research paper. I did it for my eighth grade English teacher, and received 125/125 on it, so I thought I'd share it with you in light of tomorrow's big event, kind of a preview of my analysis style even though the topics are completely different.  It was originally in .docx format (the Word 2007 format) and I converted it into HTML for easy use.

P.S. No, the analysis tomorrow won't be in that format.  There will be lots of pictures, a rarity for an Uncensored site, and a less-boring approach than what I used here to achieve 100%.

JD- I hope you are all as excited as I am to unveil this!

June 10, 2006 at 11:38 AM EDT

As you can see by the top of the page, coming in a few days is a side-by-side comparison of the Nintendo's DS and Sony Entertainment's PSP.  I have thoroughly tested and compared them both and you will get to see the exciting results and lots of pictures June 14th.  Also coming soon are the Final Five comparisons and some new TCG comparisons by Mr. Coke, plus a new column article by Jaya Lakshmi.  Finally, in July you will get to see a preview of our new fall layout!  Stay with Yuugiou Uncensored!

JD- It's all here.

May 14, 2006 at 3:03 PM EDT

Wow.  Has it really been this long again since an update?  Oh well, this time the wait is actually <Martha Stewart>a good thing</Martha Stewart> because I'm preparing content for the Big Update, still firmly set at June 8, 2006.  There probably will be some more lag time coming up, but for now I do have some good stuff for you:

1. The Jaya Lakshmi Column-  Yes, I have finally started up Jaya's column.  It will be set in the Misc/Rants page, and so anyone who wants to see it can view it there, but I will still post her articles here when she sends them.  The first one is called All Kids Read, but Some Read More, which calls Al Kahn out for his comments on manga and literacy.

2. An E3 rant coming Tuesday-  For the two of you out there who actually care about what I have to say, I'm putting a special E3-edition of JD's Rants on Tuesday, footnoted for that little extra hint of credibility.  Be careful if you have kids, though- I will be dishing up some choice words for Sony.

3. The Final Five episodes compared for the Big Update- There will be a change of plans for the big update- yes, the Final Five episodes of the series will be compared, detailing the dramatic Yuugi vs. Atemu duel.  How will 4Kids handle the revealing of Dark Yuugi's real name after they already said his name was "Yawmee"?  You'll find out June 8th.  How will 4Kids take on the last episodes of the series?  June 8th.  What will happen to Pokemon, scheduled to be dropped when WB merges into the CW in September?  June 8th.

Stay tuned, folks!

JD

April 22nd, 2006 at 1:05 PM EDT I'd like to first take the opportunity to applaud GSM on a fine first post.  It is always nice to see a new color signature on the Updates page.  Yes, Alan Tse, the one who inspired YGO U's creation in the first place, has a new opinion for us.  It is always great to have his stuff posted on our site, as it is some fine work.

We have been straying from content a bit lately, however that is to be expected during this time of passing the torch.  Some new comparisons should be on the way in the coming weeks, and I will probably be jumping around a bit, as I am well-known for doing.  One day you might see a BC comparison, one day you could find a Memories, one day you could find Noa Saga.  It's stuff like this that keeps the viewers interested in our site.  Today won't be a comparison day, though, as I have a rather large Spanish project I have to do, but if I get finished early, you might see a coffee-fueled one tomorrow.

Also, welcome to Mr. Coke.  He is going to be heading up our TCG Comparisons department, and the first new TCG Comparison in a long time will be on the way tomorrow by him.

April 20th, 2006 at 11:27 PM EDT Hey what's up? This is GS777 here from DBZU 2. I'm one of the new staff at YGO U, selected for all the editorials I did in the past here. I've got my own stuff at DBZU 2 but I'll be posting here too about once a month on stuff.

And what better way to start out than by posting a new editorial by the one and only.... Alan Tse! (http://www.animecauldron.com/ygouncensored/opinionalantse3.html) Best known for his One One Piece editorial Alan's easily my favorite anime editorial writer. (sorry Chris) First one inspired YGO U to be made by Kevin, second one's the most popular non-cartoon/animation criticism of 4Kids... who knows what his one about Viewtiful Joe will accomplish?

I actually thought about reviewing the Viewtiful Joe first episodes once but... believe me when I say that won't be necessary anymore. For Viewtiful Joe I watched the first 6 episodes fansubbed a while ago and really just laughed my ass off. This is one funny and goofy anime that knows how to have a good time. Best of all it's got a great cast from one of the funnest, funniest and most innovative games of all time.... not to mention the most difficult. But hey, that's what makes it so awesome! If you ever do play be sure to play it on Adult difficulty, you'll love it! I've played games for years and consider myself fairly an expert, but even I wound up dying probably at least 100-200 times. It's crazym but it's that intense challenge that makes it all the more worthwhile and almost sucks you in there like you're the one saving the world. And some of those boss fights were insanely tough, I had to look up faq's several times just to handle three of the bosses. (note- try to buy the Gamecube version of the game if you can and not PS2. They censored/removed a couple Nintendo references in the PS Port, and the new unlockable character "Dante" is overrated and cheapass with his gun attacks and makes the game way too easy... it's worth playing through with him at least once though for some of his extremely hilarious dialogue)

But anyway the Viewtiful Joe anime in America unfortunately sucks ass pretty hard, so much so that they may as well just rename it Brokeback Joe. (har har) I actually got mad at some fansubbers for continuing to sub it after it got released but now I'd have to say I'm grateful they did thanks to Geneon. Check out Viewtiful Joe Uncensored here. (http://www.sonicfighters.com/Viewtiful%20Joe/) And if you'd like to try to watch the episodes subbed and laugh your ass off with this funny anime, well, try asking around on the forums/irc over at Revquest. (http://www.revquest-fansubs.com/) They closed shop unfortunately and it's not currently torrented, but ask some people that hang out there and a couple should be happy to hook you up.

Also, Rev only did episodes 1-5 while NyuBlue handled 1-6. (http://www.lunchtrayninja.com/anime/bittorrent.php) Heck, I and a bud called LaserNeo even influenced NyuBlue's translation of Six Majin/Six Machine when I talked to someone from the group about it. Not sure what their rules would be about asking for the eps since NyuBlue dropped it back when Geneon got it, though maybe this editorial could convince them to pick it back up. It's a shame though.... I really wish another group would pick up Viewtiful Joe again. Why should I have to stop enjoying this funnyass series I love and be trapped with a crappy unfunny dub just because Geneon decided to sell themselves out?

April 14th, 2006 at 10:57 AM EDT Well, as promised, I'm going to post the staff requirements.  If interested, you can either e-mail me or post on the message boards under this update to be considered.  Here we go:

Two Cents Contributors - Basically using my comparison and any other info you have on the episode I'm doing, talk about what was changed.  We need two of these.

TCG Comparer - Just grabbing the Japanese/English card off the net somewhere and talking about it.  For this, I will send you a template that you simply can fill in with FrontPage or whatever you have.  We need one, but more are welcome.

Video Game Screenshooter - Someone who has a copy of the game the comparison is about, either with a ROM or using some sort of device, and can take some screenshots.  We need one.

Layout Helpers - I am in the works of finding a new layout, but anyone who is somewhat good in the art department can help me out with building a new layout.  Photoshop is probably a good thing to have.  I need as many people as possible for this one.

So, if anyone wants to do one of these, please either:

E-Mail Me
or
Put yourself out there on our message boards.

Remember: Guests CAN post on the message boards, so if you are interested in one of these jobs but don't feel like registering right now, you can still post to show that you're interested!

By the way, I thank you, the viewers, for the hits.  Even though a very good contributor, Kevin, has left us, we have actually had an increase in hits over the past two days!  We have averaged about 200 hits per day instead of about 100 or so.  Thank you very much to everyone who has helped us out on this, and I believe we'll reach 125,000 and 200,000 in no time!

JD - I hope someone takes me up on one of these jobs!

April 13th, 2006 at 3:08 PM EDT Today is the beginning of a new day.  Today ushers in the new era of Yuugiou Uncensored.  Although the Kevin T. Rodriguez, founder of the detailed comparison is gone (SMU and Dogasu's page just kind of said what went on with a sentence or two per box, like some of my own early comparisons) and the founder of this site in general, the show must continue.  We are even past Psaros's retirement point, showing that three years is nothing to scoff at.

Ladies and gentlemen, I unveil the new Staff Page, the people who with me will usher in this new era of Yuugiou Uncensored.  These three names are names you have seen on the opinions page time and time again, but now they are being formally recognized.  Saiyaman will be my new partner in crime, and he will probably post his own "hello" message on the Updates forum soon.

As I was saying on my last update, I am planning a Big Update.  It will edit, in some way, every single section of the website.  I have detailed each update I'm going to make to each section, and I'm giving you the big list now.  The release date is tentatively scheduled at June 8, 2006, however that doesn't mean there won't be any content until then.

Here are the pages I am updating to help usher in the Second Yuugiou Uncensored Era:

More info will be posted as the date comes closer.  There will be some content additions before the big update, so the site won't stay dormant, plus my new staffer Saiyaman and any other staff member that comes to the site before the Big Update will be working on general site stuff... only I'm doing the content for the big update.  Feel free to discuss this upcoming "shopping spree" of content and hilarity on our message boards.

JD

Discuss this update on the Message Boards.

April 12th, 2006 at 2:06 PM EDT (Update 2 of 2) Ladies and gentlemen, today, April 12, 2006, will go down in history as the end of an era on this great site- the day that Kevin moves on to bigger and brighter things.  Today will be a day of remembrance, and I hereby designate April 12, 2006 and 2007 and so on to be Kevin Rodriguez day, to continue to remember his legacy on this site.  Some of you might think, however, that I too, am leaving and that this site will become an archive like DBZ Uncensored.  This is not the case.  I fully intend to keep the site running as long as possible, way past the point where Yuugiou is at all popular in the United States, but to continue on until we compare every episode of Yuugiou- a feat no Uncensored site- not DBZ Uncensored, not SMU, not CardCaptors, or even Dogasu's comprehensive Pokemon resource- has ever been able to accomplish.  Until that day, ladies and gentlemen, I will continue to fight the good fight against 4Kids and keep the people that gave us 121,000 hits informed on the beauty of the Japanese version of Yuugiou.  I will not stand alone, however.  This Spring Break, I will be rolling out some brand new faces, as joining with me on my battle with 4Kids will be a multi-categorical staff, including a new partner which will be working with me, a columnist, as well as people to help with TCG and Video Game comparisons.  The era that has seen 121,000 hits is over, but this site is not dead.  A new era begins tomorrow, the era that will keep going where the old one left off.  It will also be a fairly seamless transition, as there won't be any drastic changes.  The same YGO U will continue as you know and loved it.

To celebrate Kevin's legacy, I propose a Big Update.  A big update is something I have never attempted for this site, as the site is quite bigger than any of my previous works, but it is when every section of a website is updated in some way.  I have done it in the past with such poignant websites as the SpongeBob SquareSite and JD Translations, my old ROM hacking website.  Even though I haven't done it on either of the YGO Uncensored websites, I will attempt it.  Tomorrow you'll see a list of what will be done to each section, as well as the new staff list.  Multiple holes will be in the staff list, and it will be up to you guys to fill those holes!  I will also post the job qualifications tomorrow for the various positions.  Do you know how to take screenshots in Windows?  By golly, there will be a job for you.  Have you ever noticed that the Japanese Yuugiou trading card art and an English card's art is different for some cards?  There will be a job for you.  Like the video games?  Ditto.  After all, TCG and Video Game comparisons are what set our site apart from all the others.  Like art?  Many jobs for you, hombre.

Today, however, is the end of a much loved era, and I hope you all will take a moment, as you are reading this, to remember the excellent works of Kevin, and will keep him in your thoughts as he moves on with life.  This is for you, pal.

JD

Discuss Kevin's final editorial and this update on the Message Boards.

April 12th, 2006 at 12:39 AM CEN (Update 1 of 2) Hey guys, I have a new editorial up today. I'll be back later this week with something else. A late April Fools joke if you will. Anyway, go and read what will most likely be my masterpiece for this site.

Kevin - Still addicted to "Dead or Alive 4" since all the stores are sold out of "Kingdom Hearts II."

April 8, 2006 at 10:46 AM EDT Well, the biggest thing to ever happen to the DS, Metroid: Prime Hunters, has arrived.  As expected, this game has everything:
  • Graphics that easily surpass the N64 and at some points, including when the characters are in Morph Ball form, Cube-quality graphics are displayed
  • Superb gameplay, featuring 27 battle arenas
  • Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection free of charge, with voice chat and deathmatches in every battle arena in the game
  • 6 Unlockable Characters, not including Samus Aran
  • Sensitivity control

I welcome the naysayers to put down this game, but to be blunt, it kicks ass on so many levels it might even beat Halo in terms of gameplay and online support.  Who can beat free?

As for Yuugiou Uncensored, we are far from dead, and we have full intention of building up even further by hiring a staff team.  That's right, for people who love the site and the Japanese version as much as we do, we will have many positions opening up.  I'll post a list of qualifications here and on the boards when the time arrives.

Also, thank you to the fans who have given us a magnificent 120,000 hits.  That's a big number, folks.

JD

Discuss this topic on our message boards

March 17, 2006 at 5:08 PM EST I'd just like to wish all the visitors at YGO Uncensored a happy St. Patty's Day.  Erin Go Bragh and whatnot.  Anyway, I've been transitioning to a new computer for the last week, but we're going to be going back to the format we used way, way back of having a bi-daily update format, which is sort of explained on the ancient Intro page that I have to get around to updating.  Coming soon will be a new political article on JD's Rants about the state of our nation, and how I believe President Bush is handling it.  After that, surely, will be a rebuttal from Kevin on the Updates page.  Thanks to the new message board (which wasn't around back when I did the first rant), you guys can also chime in with your opinions.

Since I work better with structure, I'm actually coming up with an update schedule, which I'll post on here tomorrow.  Not only this, but soon in the works will be a new Memories comparison and Video Game comparison, both for your viewing pleasure.

One more thing, I was checking out the first comparison I wrote for this site (way back in 2004) and I marvel at how I've changed as a writer.  Check it out for yourself:

First comparison I wrote for the site, Japanese Episode 43/English Episode 14

Latest comparison, Japanese 226/English 197

Interesting, isn't it?

JD - Happy St. Pat's, enjoy yourselves!

March 10, 2006 at 5:08 PM EST TWO updates on two consecutive days?  That's been almost heard of lately, but it is so.  Not only is it an update, but it's not one of those non-updates you've been seeing lately.  No, I have a new opinion from the vault by Jaya Lakshmi.  Take a gander!  I am even getting coffee ready for a new comparison to launch sometime pretty soon, so watch out for that also.

JD

March 9, 2006 at 1:45 PM EST Sing praises to the lord, Alleluia:

The comparison for Episode 1 of Memory Arc is up at last! It should keep you content-lovers satiated for a while, as it is quite possibly the meatiest comparison yet. Enjoy!

JD

March 5, 2006 at 1:43 PM EST Before I begin, I'd just like to say thank you.  Because of you guys our site has peaked 115,000 hits!  Thank you all for that.  Now, up to our next order of business.  I realize you guys have been waiting since the dinosaur ages for the next comparison.  I know that.  I'm not making any excuses, I haven't had time.  As one gets older, social and mental opportunities become available.  I will be venturing into high school soon, and will have less time for the site.  This is why I'm going to start new comparisons now, because I want to get a jump start, as there will probably be some lag time again after I start high school.  This site will not stagnate again, I promise you this.  I'm placing reminders on my PDA, computer, alarm clock, and probably will drink 2-3 cups of coffee, whatever it takes to get comparisons done, however they will get done.  I can assure you of that.  When?  I'd place a window from today to Saturday.  Whenever I get that Yuugiou spark that has brought together 50+ comparisons to you guys already.  Anyway, the next update I type WILL include a comparison and some other stuff, too.  Count on this like you count on President Bush to make more crappy speeches.

JD

February 2nd, 2006 at 5:42 PM CEN Just for the record, I got my receipt in saying that "Shaman King Vol. 3" had also been cancelled. I was wondering about that one. I've got a new editorial up, one that is sure to cause a bit of a controversy, and may even make me a little unpopular with certain people who visit this site. As long as you are aware of this, go on and read my new editorial. I'll be back later next week with something else.

Kevin - I never did like Fred Savage.

January 28th, 2006 at 10:39 PM CEN Bad News Guys: The uncut YGO! and SK DVD's have officially been cancelled.

I returned home one day, to find this in the mail:

While news about the uncut DVD's have been slow, there was always SOME hope future releases! Some hope that, maybe, things would get back on track. No more it looks like. I don't know why. Legal problems? Voice actor issues? Anime on DVD's reviews that were "wrong" on certain issues of the DVD's that didn't exist? I don't know. I do know this though: Something must be done. What is to be done, I don't know. Unless we know EXACTLY what is going on with these DVD's we aren't likely to get anywhere! After all, how can you protest when you don't know what you're protesting. I'll keep updating the site within the coming weeks, and hopefully I'll manage to get some information about the DVD's. Maybe it's time I take Gen Fukanaga's personal phone number and put it to use maybe?

Kevin - I could be feeling better. Really.

January 17th, 2006 at 10:46 PM CEN Hey guys. I have a new editorial posted explaining the whole situation with The Otaku Alliance, and why we decided it was time to move on. I'll have another update ready in a few days, followed by a (late) three year anniversary editorial. Yes, the site is three years old. My how time flys. This would have been mentioned on the actual date of the anniversary, but the sites moving kind of made me forget about this momentous occasion. D'oh! Oh well, we'll celebrate the special day in week. In the meantime, there is an editorial begging to be read.

Kevin - Selling anime. Selling a LOT of anime!

January 15th, 2006 at 2:04 PM EST Hey guys.

I apologize for not having the comparison up, however, it is very meaty, and it's taking me awhile.  It should be up later tonight.

JD

January 14th, 2006 at 10:00 AM EST As promised, here is your 10 AM update.

I will have the comparison finished HOPEFULLY after I get home from grocery shopping (yes, that's one of my many duties), and then from then on every Saturday should bring a new Memories comparison.  If I'm lucky.  Saturday is usually my most productive day out of the entire week, being relaxed from the night of sleeping, and lots of coffee-drinking.

And so, I will save some coffee for tonight, fire up my new Toshiba, and get to work.  Update 2 will bring the comparison as well as some new opinions from the vault from Jaya Lakshmi.

JD- Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker.

January 13th, 2006 at 11:30 AM EST It's good to be back.

Seriously, I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the lack of updates.  There were three main defining factors for why I haven't updated in over two months:

1. School

2. My computer broke, and I had to shell out big cash to buy a new one

3. America's Army

Now, you may think that after this update I'll be dead like last time, however I'll drink lots of coffee to make sure that isn't the case.  If any of you recall, almost every single one of the 60 comparisons I've composed for this site have been coffee-fueled.  Now, what am I going to do to make up for this severe lack of updates?  What am I going to do to make up for cheating a site that has almost 125,000 hits?  I'll tell you what I'm going to do, finish the Memories comparison.

Hopefully on Saturday, I will get up nice and early and whip up the Memories comparison I have been promising for a heck of a long time now, and post it at about 10:00 AM EST, IF I'm lucky.  Yes, that's not much of a make-up for two months of no updates, but it's a start.   Plus, it will be the longest comparison I've ever done BAR NONE so I might need three cups.  Why else would I be putting it off for two months?

Now, onto the next topic, the topic everyone's been bending over backwards to hear my opinion on: Pokemon Battle Frontier being dubbed by another company.

To be honest, I don't think that there's much to improve on.  If you haven't seen Dogasu's Backpack, first of all, shame on you.  Second, if you go to that site you'll know 4Kids hasn't been doing that bad of a job on that dub.  I don't know why everybody's rejoicing, as there's a lot another company could do WRONG that 4Kids has done right.  The only thing that might happen is that the new dubbing company could pull a Cloverway and use instrumental versions of the opening and closing theme song.  Other than that, not much to improve on.

Plus, I'm not even sure the information that 4Kids won't be dubbing Frontier is even entirely accurate.

JD- New updates start Saturday at 10 AM! Same bat time, same bat channel...

November 12th, 2005 at 12:31 AM CEN

Hey guys, I'm not dead (yet). I've got a new editorial by GreatSaiyaman777 up. No, he's not dead either. However aside from this editorial, I want to rant about a couple things. First off, "Viewtiful Joe." Geneon is dubbing "Viewtiful Joe" for Kids WB. Most of the time this would be a good thing, but for some reason Geneon is not only editing the show (something I expected), but they are also changing the music, most likely some of the graphics will be changed, and the DVD's will be edited only. Whoop dee doo. COME ON GUYS!!! What is wrong with you?! Shouldn't you know better then this? Has "Naruto's" success - which has included minimal editing and keep all the original (background) music intact - taught you guys nothing?! Shouldn't "Naruto's" success on Cartoon Network prove that you don't need to screw around with a series content that much for it to be successful? "Naruto's" lack of changes means all the fans of the franchise are watching the show, and kids don't care if there is silence in the show or if the music is Japanese sounding. It's a win-win situation. Why you can't figure this out I don't know (and really, you should know better after that "Dragon Ball Z" situation). And speaking of Cartoon Network, I am here to offcially protest all watching of the Cartoon Network.

Now why am I calling for a protest of the Cartoon Network? Simple: Cartoon Network will be airing LIVE ACTION movies! They have acquired the rights to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?," "Small Soldiers," "Honey We Shrunk Ourselves," and "The Goonies." Okay, so Roger Rabbit I understand, and I can kind of justify "Small Soldiers" (seeing as how most of it is practically a cartoon anyway), but "Honey We Shrunk Ourselves" and "The Goonies?" What are THOSE doing on the channel?! There is nothing animated about them. Whats worse is that Cartoon Network (along with this disgrace) is filming a few new pilots for their network. Notice how I said filming and not animating? That's right, Cartoon Network will be planning to air some new LIVE ACTION shows starting next year?! Have the executives lost their freaking minds? This is the CARTOON Network?! Why are live action shows being made for the channel? This just doesn't make any sense, and I'm shocked at the lack of outrage in all this. Spread the word: Cartoon Network is planning to destroy our favorite channel, and we need to stop them. But how? Keep checking this site and I'll keep you updated with the news.

Kevin - JD, the online DS play is free because the service sucks.

November 4th, 2005 at 1:35 PM EST (Update 1 of 2) Hey everyone, once again I apologize for lack of updating.  School and stuff, y'know?

However, I will make up for it by giving you the most revolutionary comparison that has ever hit the soil of Yuugiou Uncensored... and its shell is already up.

In other news, Nintendo held a press conference yesterday.  It unveiled real time trailers, and so tons of video game news sites decided they would post new screenies of all the good online games.

In case you are new to video games, Nintendo is coming out with its online system in a little over a week.  It is the first console to really utilize online gaming.  The games coming out for online?  There are three big ones this year and one next year that is already shaping up to be the Halo of Nintendo DS.

Mario Kart DS.

Kevin will probably go all out and say that this is a sequel, and it sort of is.  Will anyone care it's a sequel when they play this game?  Heck no.  It runs at a smooth 60 frames per second, like all online games will, there are customizable karts, unlockable characters, online, 8-player LAN, online, over 32 tracks, online, a Retro Cup featuring tracks from SNES, 64, GC, and GBA, online, a whole bunch of new tracks for the Nitro Cup, and online.  Did I mention the online?

Tony Hawk American Sk8land.

It may feature the Tony Hawk name, but this game is anything but a clone of previous Tony Hawk games.  What you will notice first is the appearance.  It is cel-shaded, which the DS pulls off magnificently.  Using cel shading, they were allowed to push TONS of detail on the screen while keeping it at a constant of 60 frames per second while skateboarding.  Of course, this game has online as well or I wouldn't be listing it.  2-player online.  All of our favorite Multiplayer games from previous Tony Hawks return plus new ones.  There will be message boards and chat rooms IN THE GAME.  Online leaderboards IN THE GAME and on the official website.  New downloadable content each week.  I could go on forever.

Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Probably the most GC-like graphics I've seen yet.  I have checked this game out and the functionality is amazing.  Since the release for this game is still a good while away, I don't know too much yet, but rest assured if you look on IGN or GameSpot you WILL be wowed by this game already.

Metroid: Prime Hunters.

This game will easily become the Halo of the Nintendo DS.  The trailer released yesterday shows Samus and company going through tons of different fields doing what they do best: shooting off enemies.  There are boss matches like you wouldn't believe.  Even though the game is still four months away from releasing, the graphics are already easily the best ever released on the system.  They trump Mario DS by a long shot.  Then, we get to the online.  They pushed this game back to early '06 to add WiFi to the game.  With it, this will become a best-seller.  With its Halo-esque deathmatches, possible co-op, leaderboards, possible text and/or voice chat, and more, this game is just going to rock.

Oh, and did I mention that the online systems these games will be using are free?

October 15th, 2005 at 11:50 AM EST Hey all, I have good news.

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

However, that's not the only good news!  Meet the next best thing to car insurance, the comparison for English Episode 55!  After you're done reading it, of course you can discuss it on its own thread at the Message Boards.

October 12th, 2005 at 2:20 PM EST Hola.

So, Jack Thompson is now offering $10,000 to anyone who will make his video game, and will donate it to charity.  Whoopee.  Let me tell you, Tim Buckley of Ctrl-Alt-Del said it best, when he noted the millions of dollars it can take to make a video game nowadays, and since no one will make the game, Jack is just crying for attention.  Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I was watching Miguzi last night (the abomination of American cartoons that took over weekday Toonami a while back), to see the first episode of GX.  Now, I hated GX in the original, so I knew I would hate it in this version, and as expected, they replaced most of the music, opening, etc.  Too bad.

I will attempt to type up a comparison or two for you over the weekend, which won't be too hard considering there are a ton of edits in Battle City.  Until then!

So it's another Nintendo update is it? I have a response to that last post, but I'll tackle it in my blog since the updates page really SHOULDN'T be used for anything other then YGO! and 4Kids news (it's not a very well enforced rule though, so I guess you'll be reading another anti-Bush and Nintendo rules update withen a few days). I'm sure you all have seen the new "Naruto" dub on Cartoon Network, and I think you'll agree with me when I say it was one of the best things that could have happened to "Naruto" in America. Not only was the dub excellent, but Anime News Network (bunch of monkeys) reported that the show was doing excellent in the ratings department. "Naruto" isn't a merchendise based show, but this show will be selling tons of toys come Christmas time. Whats most pathetic is that the show that follows "Naruto" is "One Piece," which SHOULD have been a much better success then it is right now! Of course, 4Kids completely botched the dub, and with a botched dub out there the show will never become popular. What's so ironic is that "Naruto" is airing on Toonami with a TV-PG rating. If memory serves me, this is the first Toonami show with such a high rating. If "Naruto" can get away with a TV-PG, then why does 4Kids keep editing "One Piece" down to a TV-Y7? Of course, if tons of people are watching "Naruto" with it's original music and moments of silence in it, then why is no one watching "One Piece" with it's rap music and cork guns?

If 4Kids ever had a reason to create a brand new dub from scratch, this is it. As predicted, the Japanese opening and endings have been changed to some American created intro. I'm not surprised at this, and honestly felt that we made off pretty good if this was the worst of the changes we would have to suffer, but apparently some "Naruto" fans are still screaming bloody murder about this. If there is ever going to be a "Naruto Uncensored!" created (and trust me, at this point it looks like that would be a waste of time) then the webmaster is going to have a VEERRRYYYYY easy job! And that's it. Just wanted to give my two cents on the "Naruto" dub, and here's hoping the show becomes very successful. Peace.

September 17th, 2005 at 9:00 AM EST Hello all, I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates.  There are three reasons for me not updating right now, and they are (in order of importance):

1. School

2. Behind-the-scenes issues with a gigantic change here at Yuugiou Uncensored that will happen before the leaves on the trees change color

3. School

But for now, I have something for you to feast your eyes on: Satoru Iwata's Keynote at TGS. New Revolution controller video is included.  And I must say, this WILL revolutionize gaming, and I have fallen in love with the controller.
