Updates
April 13th, 2005 at 12:57 PM EST (Update 1 of 2) Well, I have a big surprise of ya'll. Yes, DDM Ep 2 is up! Just... two... more. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, AKA Battle City! Stay tuned, I'll try to get up the final two DDMs today!

JD

April 12th, 2005 at 9:55 PM EST (Update 3 of 3) THREE UPDATES. Have we ever had three updates in one day in the history of Yuugiou Uncensored?

Anyways, first of all, I'd just like to say that if you have never watched House, M.D. before, you should have your head examined. There's still one more thing, however, that I'd like to say, and I believe it warrants a third update.

NEW COMPARISONS ARE BAAAAAACK!

Lo and behold, the edit-filled DDM Episode 1, or English Episode 44.

April 12th, 2005 at 5:45 PM CEN (Update 2 of 3)

I would like to say congratulations to JD for attempting to win the spelling bee. I could never do something like that. Never mind the fact that I'm a lousy speller, I just couldn't stand the thought of trying to remember all those freaking words and how to spell them. Needless to say, I am very impressed with the effort he put into this, and I'm glad his surgery went well. I have a couple of announcements today. The first annoucement is that there is a new Uncensored site out there that joins us in the fightful fight in letting the truth be known. No, it's not "Naruto Uncensored," as no one's sure if the editing in that show (yes, it will be edited when it hits Toonami, it has to be) will be a big enough problem to warrant making an Uncensored site for it. In fact, this new site isn't even an anime site at all, but a manga site. Ladies (I know your out there) and gentlemen. let me welcome you to the "Anti-Shonen Jump Alliance." Yeah, I know, it's kind of strange that I of all people am linking to this site seeing as how much of a Shonen Jump fan I am, but here's the sad truth: Shonen Jump is being edited. Not much mind you, but just enough that some fans may want to do something about it. Me personally, the editing hasn't been enough of an issue for me to jump on the boycott bandwagon yet. I don't know if maybe I'm just too flexible or whatnot, but taking out a cigarette in two panels of "Hikaru no Go" doesn't seem like enough of a deal to warrant a boycott (that, and "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is still being treated with respect, so I guess they have yet to press my button). With that said though, there ARE some minor edits that are taking place in the mag, and I'm sure you'll all want to know about them so that you can make an educated guess about the magazine. And no, PLEASE don't send me e-mails asking about the edits as I won't give them to you!

My other announcement is that there will be a new member joining our site by the end of the week. While I won't tell you who this person is, he has contributed editorials and other materials to such sites as "The Otaku Alliance," and I feel he will contribute a lot to the site. I'll let him talk about his responsibilities when he gets here, but lets just say he has some cool things that you're all going to love. With that said I'm off to figure out how to make some extra pocket money (darn taxes), and if I don't see you again next week, it's because I'm going to be seeing Michael W. Smith in concert on Sunday. Catch you all later.

Kevin - I guess I should also lay off buying the manga from Border's while their doing their "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale.

April 12th, 2005 at 11:30 AM EST (Update 1 of 3) Have any of you ever had surgery? On the pelvic region? That's what I had to have today. I won't explain it in detail to keep this site PG-13, but first they made me strip down to my socks and put a gown on.  Then they had to put an IV into my arm.  Now, that didn't really hurt much, except they MISSED the vein!  That's right, they had to take the f**ker out and re-stick me!  Anyways, the second time they got a vein, so I didn't have to go through that again. She gave me some sort of antibiotic to make sure I didn't catch anything, and then she said good luck.  I chatted briefly with the doc doing the surgery, and then I chatted with the anesthesiologist. He gave me a little taste (through the IV) of what I was going to have, and already I was getting sleepy.  Soon after, I was wheeled to the operating table, where the anesthesia guy hit me with the most powerful crap this side of the planet.  I was out like a light, and the next thing I knew I was somewhere else in the outpatient facility with my downstairs region fully operated on.  And man, did it hurt when I woke up!  I had to get on this opium stuff (called Vicodin) so it wouldn't hurt anymore.  I was then told that I couldn't go down to Fourth Street in Harrisburg and get the world's best cheese steaks, which bummed me out.  See, I can't eat anything nice and greasy till at least 6 PM, and the Philly Steaks and Hoagies in Harrisburg closes at 3.  Nice, huh?  I just decided to go to the one near us in Mechanicsburg which doesn't close until nine.  The nice thing about having this surgery is that I'll be out of school until Thursday at the earliest to recuperate.  Maybe I can even get out the rest of the week, I'm crossing my fingers.  As for content-related stuff, not today.  I should have some up on the 14th as promised, but maybe not.  Now, I'm catching some Zs and returning to my flower-filled world.  Yes, I'm that high.

Oh, and I didn't win the spelling bee, but I got $100 for showing the most enthusiasm, which is called the Reed Ernst Award.  It's the only award given besides the ones for the Top Ten, so I feel lucky.  I also got $50 for finishing in the fourth round, and a gigantic dictionary with a CD ROM version.  Plus, I got an Old Country Buffet meal ticket and a certificate of merit. Lucky me.

JD- Two Time Diocesan Spelling Bee champ AND 2005 Recipient of Reed Ernst Award at Patriot News Spelling Bee!

April 9th, 2005 at 9:30 AM EST Here we go. At 4 PM today I will be arriving at the Harrisburg Hilton for an overnight stay, and of course to participate in the Grand Championship Oral Spelldown.  Holy crap, in about 28 hours I'll be going against the state's best spellers, competing for a limo ride to D.C. the week of May 30th.  Oh, and if I do win States this time, I will be sure to mention this site in the victory speech.  Yes, ladies and gents, that means the entire state of Pennsylvania would be attacking OA's server, jamming for a look at, as Kevin says, his dirty little YGO website.  Of course, I have to beat out 60 brainiacs first.  Wish me luck!  I also have a new JD's Rant on the Misc. section, go check it out, you folks will probably like it.  And no, it's NOT DS vs. PSP!

One MORE thing- check out DS @ IGN and click on the PSP vs. DS editorial that someone did. You'll be pleasantly surprised which system did better in Fiscal Year 2004 for Japan.

JD

April 2nd, 2005 at 10:00 AM EST I'm wondering how many of you caught my April Fool's joke yesterday. I thought it was pretty inspired... but for those souls who didn't catch it, it's here.

Note to Kevin: I'm not on any spelling bee trip yet, I'm just spending a lot of time preparing for it as well as continually developing my SIC Reading project. I'd say around April 14th we'll be back to normal updates.

JD

March 31st, 2005 at 10:10 PM CEN

And here I am, updating once again on my "dirty" little YGO U website. Why I have time to update my comic site twice a week but only this once a month I don't know. Actually, I do know: There isn't much to talk about. Manga's being treated great (even if other "Shonen Jump" titles have been questionably edited), the anime is coming out uncut on DVD, and there isn't much to talk about when it comes to censored YGO! stuff now-a-days. Which is why a reader of this site, Chris Paul, has offered up a new challenge: Get YGO! cards that are uncut and unaltered from the American ones. You can read all about it here, but needless to say, with everything else uncut YGO! we've gotten, it could be a very real possability that we could get our way with the cards too. Hey, look at what we accomplished in just a few years of screaming with YGO! Didn't it take some seven to nine odd years before DBZ fans got their first uncut DVD? Speaking of DVD's, Chris Beverage of Anime on DVD reviewed his first YGO! DVD a couple months ago, and he had this to say:

The uncut release of YuGiOh is essentially no different than the first two volumes which means it suffers from one major flaw. While we do at long last get an uncut visual present and an uncut audio presented, complete with Japanese language songs and translated lyrics as well as the original credit sequences, the subtitle track is identical to the dub track other than the names being changed. While we've certainly heard a number of very accurate dubs in the past, this goes way too far in that direction and we've essentially got a dubtitled release instead of a properly translated one. While everything else is spot-on and great to see, the inclusion of this kind of subtitle track in effect makes the entire thing useless.

Well so nice of you to point this out Chris. I suspect you won't be writing FUNimation a letter about the subtitle problems like you did with Viz and their recent decision to cover up a few nipples in "I''s," will you? Maybe you'll launch a campaign on this issue huh? No? Why not, don't you just go all crazy when an anime release isn't perfect? Why aren't you fighting for this title? Not that you need to mind you. Just for the record, the dubtitle problem WAS solved with the YGO! DVD's! The problem was solved with the third YGO! DVD, which is, not surprisingly, the DVD of which that review sample came from. See, it's credability like this which is the reason I don't visit AoD much anymore (I basically just go there to read the news and I leave). With all that said, I bid you farewell, until we meet again.

Kevin - JD, please hurry back from your spelling bee trip.

March 19th, 2005 at 11:50 AM EST

Hey again! No updates because of the three major projects I'm heading up. People have e-mailed me asking about my SIC project website. I received an A for the first Intermediate Deadline check, so I'm doing ok. As for DS. vs PSP, it's coming along. I'm about halfway done right now.  Also, I'm studying for the spelling bee two hours a day, using the Consolidated Word List.  It's coming up on April 10th, and if anyone's around Pennsylvania, I believe it will be broadcasted on either PCN or WHBG 20.  Once I'm finished with DS vs. PSP, the SIC project, and the spelling bee, we'll start with comparisons again. That would be about April 13th.

JD

March 12th, 2005 at 11:35 AM CEN

What's up, guys (and gals too)? No comparisons today, but I do want to tell you about all the projects I'm heading up for this site as well as for school. For this site, I am writing up the DS vs. PSP Rant that will come out the day of PSP's release, March 24th. For school, I'm doing a different spelling bee website, not the one that I started kinda half-assed from the ashes of YGO II. Also, I'm still studying for the April 10th spelling bee, where I can get a lot of money as well as Hersheypark vouchers. Oh yeah, and limo service ain't bad either.

Anyway, since there's a lot of crap going on in my life right now, the DDM comparisons are going to be taken one at a time over the course of a month, and then we'll be on our way to Battle City. I've been wanting to start comparing BC for a long time, but the stupid Filler Arc has been holding me back for almost a year now!

One more thing, I welcome Kevin back, at least temporarily, from the depths of college hell. ;-)

Hey yo everyone. I have posted a new editorial from our favorite guest star/controversial writer/rabid otaku/guy who makes the most sense when talking about anime sometimes/main reason to visit DBZOA/main reason to mock DBZOA...well, whatever you want to call him, he's back with another editorial. This one is a bit different from most editorials you'll read on this site, but it is worth reading. So go check it out.

Kevin - Hopefully G will forgive me for my (rather poor) joke.

March 5th, 2005 at 6:35 PM EST

Hey guys. I have some news that some of you might not like. Unless Kevin wants to, there aren't going to be very many updates from now until after April 10th, and if I go to the National Spelling Bee, not until the summer. The reason is because I need the time to study for this thing. I only have a little over a month to study the dictionary, so I'm makin' the most of it. I'll still make the occasional weekend update, but don't quote me on that.

English Episode 43 is up, though, as the last comparison for a while.

Hello one and all. It is the Lord and Master...Foamy!

...

Alright I'm just kidding, it's only me, Kevin. Anyway I guess you're all wondering where I've been all this time. Answer: Working...and watching the Oscars (*curses under breath that "Aviator" didn't win*). Well I'm not updating because I have our second your editorial finished (I promise I'll have that done SOMEDAY), but because a good friend of mine actually tipped me off on a juicy little tibit about the legendary "Dragon Ball Z OVA." Well for those of you who have heard about this urban legend, I have news for you: You can download it! Here to be exact! And that's really all I have to show. Not much, but I'll post something new for the site soon. See you later.

Kevin - I remember "Star Trek" being a better show when I saw it as a kid.

February 27th, 2005 at 12:52 AM EST Fifteen days... without an update. FIFTEEN! AHHHH! OK, it has calmed down in my life for the time being. I am representing 876 children in the Patriot-News Spelling Bee on April 10th, so wish me luck! Oh, and those final 5 pesky Filler Arc episodes should be done by... the end of 2005. ;-)

JD

February 12th, 2005 at 12:14 PM EST What's up everyone? I have some really great news. No, not about the site, however it's about my life in general. I have a 1030 on my SATs, with 510 on the Writing. Not bad for a 7th grader! I received a 93 on my latest Algebra test, and I'm taking the State Spelling Bee Test tomorrow at the Hilton. Yes, things are going nicely for me. I've been eligible to take some summer writing courses in Maryland, and if I take one this summer, we might not have an update for about three weeks while I go.

JD- It's a marshmallow world in the winter...

February 10th, 2005 at 5:35 PM EST Hello, hello, hello! Man, do I have some great news for the site today. First off, let me tell you that we've had some... ahem... 'password malfunctions' with the OA server, however they are fixed for the time being. I now, however, have a backup server from Comcast that we'll use if these convenient password malfunctions occur again.

We are now 2 years and 26 days old, and I have a great belated birthday present: Drumroll please!

Drumroll!

You're not drumrolling!

THE REST OF THE DUELIST KINGDOM COMPARISONS ARE UP!!

Not only that, but English Episode 42 is up to help complete the Filler Arc!

JD- Yep, it's a great birthday here at YGO Uncensored. :-D

February 7th, 2005 at 12:52 AM CEN You know what I just realized? Our 2 Year Aniversary just passed us and we missed it completely! Oops. Sorry guys, I'll get the 2nd year editorial up as soon as I can. In the meantime though, there is a new editorial from the master of anime controversy GreatSaiyaman777. Check it out in the opinions section.

Kevin - Why oh WHY didn't "The Polar Express" get nominated for "Best Animated Film of The Year?!"

January 19th, 2005 at 11:35 PM EST I just want it to be known right now that I totally agree with Kevin here. The one time they post something other than FanFic or a DBGT comparison, some idiot took it down. Speaking of idiots, Bush is being re-elected for a second term, and his inauguration is tomorrow. God help us all. And our wallets. Seriously, the 20/20 interview was more of a comedy fest. One indirect quote: "We used YOUR tax and social security money to find those weapons of mass destruction, but we didn't find none!"

Oh yes, and English Episode 22 is here! Anyways, I hope I can speed up the rate of these things. Seriously, I'm thinking about just hotlinking the rest of the comparisons from YGO II and changing some of the YGO II pictures around. That way, we can just press on with the Filler Arc and start Battle City.

One more thing- GO STEELERS!

JD- I personally don't think anyone at the OA cares about the Update, or are even online to read it.

January 16th, 2005 at 2:13 PM CEN I'm in a VERY good mood today! Why am I in a very good mood you ask? I'm in a good mood because the very first season/series/animated cartoon of "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is being fansubbed, and you can get the fansubs through the bittorent at Anime Suki.com here! This is a GREAT day for me because the main reason I opened this site was NOT to improve the dub (although I hoped it would be improved), it was NOT because I liked comparing episodes (although it can be fun), it was to raise interest in the first series, in hopes that it would either be fansubbed completely, or that someone would buy the rights to the series and release uncut duel language DVD's of the series!! Well this may not be the DVD's I was ultimately hoping for, but until those come out I'm in heaven! I guess the uncut DVD's of the second series combined with the cool uncut manga (which Viz still does an excellent job with might I add) was enough to convince someone that fansubbing this series was worth their time (or maybe they decided to check it out and secretly loved it themselves and decided to share the love). Either way, this is an EXCELLENT oppertunity to check out the original series that many YGO! fans consider to be the best season/series of the ENTIRE YGO! anime! Of course, with this news I have a beef with the very same news that I have to rant about (pull up a chair folks, this could be a long one). Now don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with the news itself, I have a problem with where I got it from and where I don't see it anymore. I would like to say that I have the bragging rights and was the first to report about these fansubs, but I'm actually not the first to report on this. In fact, I got the news from my parent site "The Otaku Alliance," and the one and only GreatSaiyaman777 (the only person aside from Leia who does any actual WORK on that site) posted the news, and because the news was posted there I wasn't going to say anything until much later (this way he could get the credit for reporting this story). However when I looked at the site now, it appears that G's news post gone.

Vanished! Disappeared! No longer lingering! However an extremely pointless post by SJR (apologizing for being late in getting work done, while then continuing to post fan fiction) stays on the site. What the %#&&?! I'm sorry, but aren't you guys supposed to be "The OTAKU Alliance?!" Wasn't "The Otaku Alliance" put together for the sole purpose of being a haven for anime fans who feel cheated by the big companies? Many YGO! fans are disgusted by the way 4Kids treats the anime, they want to see the first series subtitled...heck, they want to see the first series PERIOD (even hardcore fans have had a hard time even FINDING the first series to watch in raw Japanese formatt)! The first series is not licensed yet, so these fansubs are perfectly legal, yet someone at "The Otaku Alliance" apparently thinks that this news shouldn't be on the front page but fanfiction can (Note to SJR: If people want to read fanfiction, then they can go to fanfiction.net or a website that SPECIALIZES in fanfiction, not a news and comentary site). Yeah, guess you can see why I'm so pissed off huh? In my opinion, if "The Otaku Alliance" feels that fanfiction and DBGT scripts are more important then actually news that could help out a lot of fans (which are the people they are making the site for apparently), then they need to rename their site and focus on those things. But stop cluttering up the news page with useless fanfics, and don't you DARE censor important news like this! Now I bet you're all freaking out by now, and pointing out that the one's who host my site are non other then "The Freaking Otaku Alliance" themselves! How could I dare bite the hand that feeds me so easily? Easy: I don't really LIKE "The Otaku Aliance" anymore! When "The Otaku Alliance" used to be the "Dragon Ball Z Otaku Alliance" there were updates all the time, news that was important posted, lots of editorials and commentaries, and a whole bunch of stuff that was worth reading.

When the DBZOA realized that there was really nothing more to say about DBZ and the way it was being treated, they realized that they needed to change so that they could, as a site, move forward. Since there were a lot more poor dubs from companies like Nelvana and 4Kids Entertainment, they decided to change into "The Otaku Aliance," and focus their energies on all anime that needed fans to back it up. The idea was good in theory: A safe haven that would fight for every butchered anime, a place where fans could go to get info and help in saving their favorite shows from abomination. However ever since the change what has "The Otaku Alliance" actually accomplished? Not much. Well let's see here...SJR posted an editorial on why "The Otaku Alliance" will always be alive, and an editorial explaining that he will fight to make sure that "Naruto" doesn't fall into the wrong hands (although what's he's actually done in that fight is anyone's guess). Another member posted a couple of editorials about plaques in fanfiction and an editorial called "DBZ Vs. Naruto" (gee, like THAT is supposed to help the cause). Otherwise though, with the exception of GreatSaiyaman's editorials, I would say that "The Otaku Alliance" has essentially done nothing...at least, they haven't done anything that has to do anything with their goal in mind. The only thing I see every week is Leia posting a new DBGT comparison or script, and a couple new fanfictions posted by SJR every couple of weeks, otherwise though nothing. See the furstration yet? Even though some of our updates are a little silly sometimes, I have ALWAYS made it clear that if this site were to EVER lose focus on it's main goal (spreading the news about dubbed YGO!) then I would shut the site down!

When I started to get too busy to handle the site by myself I brought JD on board to help out with the comparisons. Not only that, but my inside news people Moal and Ultraseiya are always giving me cool news that I can use on this site, so while I may make an update every now and then for the pure sake of getting something in my personal life off my chest, I NEVER let this site lose focus of it's goal! That's why I refuse to post fanfiction. I refuse to post fanfiction, fanart, scripts, and all that other stuff for the pure and simple fact that stuff like that doesn't belong here...at all! However it doesn't belong on "The Otaku Alliance" either (at least, it shouldn't in many a fans eye). So the question is, why is that the only thing they post now? I fully well expect this rant is going to get me in trouble, and if anyone over at "The Otaku Alliance" would like to complain to me, you can e-mail me and I'll give you my AIM screen name. Don't worry, I'll behave myself. So yes people, I'm a little bitter right now. But let it be known here and now: GreatSaiyaman actually posted some USEFUL news on "The Otaku Alliance" yesterday! And the staff took it down. Now you can decide what you think of their site.

Kevin - Well JD, I think we may have to start looking for a new home after that one.

January 9th, 2005 at 10:29 PM CEN

Hello one and all! Happy New Year! Sorry that updates have been lacking, but you see, there was a death in the family, and so everything I was working on got delayed. Which means that the 2 Year Aniversary editorial will be delayed until next month most likely (although I'll try to finish up another editorial I'm writing before then). I'd like to apologize to everyone who's sent me an e-mail and didn't get a response, but as you can see, responding to e-mails wasn't on the top of my list (a friend of mine uploaded reviews on my comic website for me). But things should be getting back on scheduel (including getting started on the 2nd Aniversary project thats going to make other Uncensored sites jealous), so while I don't have anything to upload today, I figured I should at least let you guys know what's going on so that you don't worry about me too much. I do want to comment on JD's little "Super Mario DS" comment: Yes, I have played it, and no, I haven't changed my mind about it. I don't like the Mario game. Why you ask? Because "Mario 64" was the first analog controlable game, and as such the new way to control the character changed the way we played games forever. And what does this port do? It takes the evolutional leap back a few spaces by making us control this game with a D-Pad. Yay. By the way, did you know that Nintendo's Revolution system may not even have buttons?! And people wonder why I have no faith in the company anymore.

Kevin - And yes, the 2005 Best/Worst lists WILL be online in February!

January 2nd, 2005 at 2:46 PM EST I have some content for you today.

First off, I was watching Kids WB Sunday, and I decided to do a comparison for the first BC ep. English Episode 50 is here! Yes, it's jumping around a bit, but I just felt like doing one.

Second, we have a brand new Opinion essay up, and this guy is po'd at Shonen Jump.

That ends Christmas break for me, I go back to school tomorrow. Hopefully, I can continue updating the content like this regularly.

JD

January 1st, 2005 at 12:05 AM EST Lots of big news on the Uncensored front: A new Rant is coming out soon on our site as well as a brand spanking new layout, plus more big news that I think you'll want to read. Also, we welcome Mew Mew Power Uncensored as a great reference to Tokyo Mew Mew (formerly named Hollywood Mew Mew by 4Kids), even though it's being hosted by.. the Evil Ones. Oh, and speaking of them, they have a new layout, suspiciously so close to our Christmas layout, which places the buttons on the left instead of the right. Plus, Dogasu is back from Japan and is going to start updating his site again soon.

It is the new year of 2005 as I type this, and I have a 2005 treat for you. Yes, English Episode 21 is up.

Oh, and when you watch Dic *cough* I mean Regis Philbin tonight, drop by EarthCam's Times Square. They have 12 cameras aimed at NYC, as well as streaming video of the big ball.

JD- Have a great Two Thousand Five!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 26th, 2004 at 11:39 AM EST I have returned from vacation, well rested, and all. The good news is that I have off from now until January 2, so that means lots of content and non-updates coming soon for everyone. I just purchased Super Mario 64: DS, and it is probably the hands down COOLEST and BEST game on the Nintendo DS as of yet. Ten times better than any of the other games, and only about three times better than the Metroid demo.  I'd be surprised if Kevin still wants to put down the DS after playing SM64DS.

As for the PSP, I really don't get all the fuss that people are making about the graphics. In all of the games that I've played, the graphics are N64/PSOne level and a bit higher for some, but they hardly reach PS2 level. All of the special features that PSP has will be released on the DS as well, such as the MP3 player.

JD

December 20th, 2004 at 4:06 PM EST Hey all, how's life goin' for ya? I am going on yet another vacation beginning today at 5:45 PM EST. I will have limited access to the computer, and no FTP program, so no updates from me until after Christmas.

See ya soon.

JD

December 18th, 2004 at 11:11 AM EST Hey guys. I have really great news... I saved a load of money by switching to Geico. No, just kidding.

The About the Staff page has been updated, adding Rach and Yuko to the Staff. There is still one opening, and I am only allowing it to be used if Kevin wants to add another certain staff member. That certain staff member knows who he is. Yuko Itogi is the Japanese correspondent for YGO Uncensored, the only Uncensored website to have someone in Japan getting stuff for us. :) He already has greatly assisted us with Japanese episode names, and has compared two whole comparisons for Noa's Ark for me. You'll notice them because they are much more in-depth and meaty than my comparisons. Rachel is a staff member that will update whenever there is a down time, which is good for times like these when I pretty much take on the site solo as Kevin has a ton of crap to do like jobs and probably studying for upcoming midterms is up there on his list.

There is a HUGE Rant coming out, which I compared to Chris Psaros's Goodbye message and this Rant is almost as long. It's about DS vs PSP, and our Japanese correspondent Yuko Itogi went in and using some cashola provided by yours truly, got me a PSP solely for this Rant.

One more thing- I'd like to make this clear to all nitpickers: We choose to combine the first and second series together into one because the first series is only 27 episodes long, has the same central characters plus one, and has pretty much the same monsters. There are key differences, however since the characters are the same, that's how we do it. I don't want any more nitpicker e-mailing me about the first series, or we will make fun of you in a brand new E-Mail page that I'm doing. Thanks.

JD

December 15th, 2004 at 11:30 PM EST Hey everyone. No comparisons today, I was off kinda... winning the MMS Spelling Bee. That's right folks, I beat out 866 kids to go on to States. If I win States (not likely), I go on to Nationals. I even get a limo to Washington, D.C.! Yes folks, I had an extremely crappy day today, beginning with standing up for four frikkin hours while 52 people spelled besides me for 12 rounds. After that, I just wanted to go home, rest my brain, and take a nap. Oh no, there's still four periods left, I thought. Grr. Anyways, the minute after I got home from the exhausting day, I had to go to my bro's boring school play for three hours. Then, come back home to do my homework. Whoopee. So, yeah, no time to do comparisons today, but days like this only happen... once a year. Like Christmas, only... a lot more gay. (Yeah, it's hard to top Christmas in terms of gayness... come on, all the flashy decorations and metallic tinsel...)

December 12th, 2004 at 1:30 PM EST I have the DS as well, and I tell you it is one great machine. Yes, it is lacking in games right now, however it was just released less than a month ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the surge of games come timed with the release of the PSP. The PSP may have better graphics, however their combo of games will be piss-poor. DS, on the other hand, is coming out with a whole slew of games in Jan-March of 2005, including Yuugiou: Nightmare Troubadour. YGO: NT takes FULL advantage of the DS's capabilities, one of the first games to do that. It offers a full 3D view of the duel you are playing on the top screen, and the controls on the bottom, where you play the duel out. If you get the DS, take my advice: stick with the Metroid demo and PictoChat until March, when the games that really push DS to the max come out. Oh, and don't get XX-XY. It's crap.

Next on my list is English Episode 20, which had to be re-compared because of a boo-boo on my part. Oops. It's very meaty, check it out if you have the chance.

December 11th, 2004 at 2:15 PM CEN Hey everyone, long time no see huh? Well, it's the holiday season, and while that may mean lots of free time for JD, that means more work for me. Bummer. Along with working my two low wage paying jobs, I'm also working on re-inventing comic book journalism. However that doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything. Oh no, I have been working very hard on my second year aniversary editorial, as well as a huge YGO Uncensored exclusive that other uncensored sites will be jealous of. I'm not going to tell you what it is yet, but trust me, when I post it you will all have tears in your eye's (hopefully). Also, as someone who owns the Nintendo DS, I just HAVE to comment on JD's little DS post! Here's the truth: The DS sucks. It sucks big time. The DS is no more than a curiosity machine right now, nothing more, nothing less. There are no must have games for the system, the second screen has been totally useless for every game I've played (why no analog control?), the touch screen abilities take the fun out of all the games that actually use it, and I'm no expert on weight, but I KNOW that the DS shouldn't be THIS heavy! I have been very critical of Nintendo for years now, and my opinion of them is that they are out dated in thinking and acting. Going with cartridges over CD's for N64, releasing nothing but sequels for the past ten years ("Pikman" was the last TRULY original thing Nintendo created), backing up their connectivity gimmick instead of supporting online gaming (which is definetly a success), and now the DS, where they give up a second screen to pretend that they are inovating, when in fact that are simply running out of good ideas.

Yeah, so the PSP doesn't look like it's going to re-invent anything, but at least the games look fun. What does the DS have? A weird compilation of mini-games in the form of a dating sim ("XX/XY") and a Metroid game where you drag Samus around with a pen. Whoop de do. If you want one this holiday season but your parents don't get one for you, then don't buy one. If you must get one of these things, then I would highly recomend you wait until there are some good GAMES that you WANT!! By the time this thing gets some good games the system will be cheaper, so why bother now? In case you haven't guessed by now, I don't feel like the Nintendo DS is the revolution Nintendo claimed it would be. On the other hand, this system was built by the same morons who went to E3 in 2003, claimed that they were looking torwards the future, and then they showed everyone their newest GBA connectivity winner: A new Pac-Man game. Trust me folks, a new Pac-Man is the FARTHEST thing from looking to the future! In fact, save for "Pong" Pac-Man is about as old school as you get these days (nevermind that their "other" killer app title was a REMAKE of the original Playstation game "Metal Gear Solid"). JD, readers, please don't waste your money on this device. Sure it's not as bad as the N-Gage is, but on the other hand the only reason this thing is selling so well is because of the curiosity factor. If this thing didn't have a second screen, it wouldn't be getting HALF the attaintion it is right now, and quite frankly that attaintion is unwarrented at the moment! Once Nintendo decides to actually DO something with the second screen will I stand up and notice. Right now all it does is give you a map in the games, which is useless because it's not THAT hard to press the start button to find out where you are!

I was going to comment on the whole "Sailor Moon Uncensored" situation that seems to have crept up on us, but the fact is I'm just going to let the whole thing go. If they don't like my site, fine. If they can't take some critisim, fine. And if one of their webmasters wants to validate themselves by whinning like a two year old in an editorial giving fans of the site (yes, you heard me, I only made critisims because I CARE) reasons why they shouldn't complain and just shut up, then that's their choice. And if they feel better about themselves now that they've posted that editorial then good for them. Doesn't bother me one bit, I've got better things to worry about. In other news, I'm late in reporting this, but it appears that the Japanese release of "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie" has had some changes made to it. The text has all been redone so that it's Japanese, the musical score has been re-scored by the people who scored the (Japanese) anime series, and the script went through quite a re-write. While I think this is an interesting idea (and the thought of better music intriques me), I ultimately am a little opposed by this choice. I didn't like the changes made to the original "Star Wars Trilogy" DVD's, and I oppose these changes. For the pure fact that the movie the Japanese are seeing is NOT the same as the one we saw! There's already enough of a barriar when it comes to both countries enjoying the show due to the changes, and the changes to the movie are yet one more barriar. On the other hand, even though I oppose of these changes, I will most likely pick up the import DVD over the American DVD. However my reason for not buying the American DVD is for one simple reason: The DVD isn't in widescreen. Yeah, Warner lied to the fans. Big surprise, huh? This of course ticks me off, but considering Warner's track record when it comes to releasing their animated films in widescreen goes, this turn of events comes as no real surprise to me.

On a completely unrelated note, today is my 19th birthday. Yes, at 5:32pm today (as my mom reminds me yearly) I'll be 19, and the last important age of my life will be behind me. I already got my gifts from my parents (my brother got me "7th Heaven Season 1," my mom got me a cell phone [yuck], and my dad got me "How To Talk To A Liberal" by Ann Coulter), so I guess the days going good so far (although I hate that I have to work tonight). So yeah, today's my birthday, don't worry about getting me anything (jk). Okay, that last part was a joke, but with that out of the way it's time to go get a couple hours of snoozing before work (if I'm lucky my boss will give me the rest of the day off as a present). See ya.

Kevin - Stop screwing around with the DS and pick up "Halo 2."

December 11th, 2004 at 3:25 PM EST Happy Holidays! As you can see, the Christmas layout is up. I decided to flip the buttons around to see how it looks to the left instead of to the right, as well as make the whole thing look Christmas-y. English Episode 20 will come soon, I just need to finish comparing it. Trust me, it's a MEATY comparison. Plus, there's a lot of crap I need to get done, like an SIC Intermediate Deadline (Click here to see what that is) as well as to study for a Gym test on Monday and an Algebra quiz on Tuesday.

A quick follow-up to the bashing of our site: "The really funny thing about the specific site that inspired the editorial....They complain about us not updating.........yet they've been open over 1 1/2 years now and they only have 13 comparisons posted. Compared to our 95+. Not to mention the movie comparisons.  I just thought that was really funny."- One of the Three Twenty-something Owners of SMU that needs to Hang it Up

See, I'd like to counter that statement. Kevin BEGAN this site when he was in college (I believe), because of his passion for Yuugiou. SMU's owners, on the other hand, began the site in their late teens with the exception of one who was about 20, and had some time on their hands to run the site. Kevin just had less time, and therefore only had 13 comparisons posted at the time of this message. They forgot about me, the other co-owner, who has been bringing in comparisons from my site. Plus, they should talk. They only had FOUR sagas to complete, not counting Stars which hasn't been dubbed. We have about eight or nine. It is really a much more daunting task.

I will be on vacation in New York this weekend, therefore not being able to post comparisons. I will, however, hope to finish the last of the DK comparisons very soon, and then get right to beginning Battle City. I'm really excited about getting to compare BC just because of the sheer stupidity in the dub. BC., here I come!!

November 29th, 2004 at 6:10 PM EST Today, for the first time in awhile, I checked Sailor Moon Uncensored to see if they've updated with some meaningful content, like they actually were for about a month or so before this very update. I would have commented about this earlier, but to be honest I don't visit fellow Uncensored sites with the exception of Chris's to get inspiration or Dogasu's site, however Dogasu is in Japan studying currently. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw an Editorial that was based on the equivalent of telling some people to shut up. In fact, about one quarter of the Editorial was a direct attack on Kevin. Yes, they tried to cover it up. They tried to mask who they really meant. How long has it been since one person was a "minority"? However, they gave subtle hints it was him. There were five Uncensored sites remaining at the time of the Editorial to my knowledge. SMU, and they were the ones that wrote the Editorial. Dogasu's Backpack, but they didn't have the original Chris layout (and SMU told "the minority" that their website layout copy of Chris's was poor compared to theirs), Yuugiou Uncensored II, however I never said anything about SMU's lack of updates. I did have the Chris layout, though. Shaman King Uncensored, however they don't have the Chris layout. The only website that offered a real opinion toward SMU and has the original Uncensored layout is Yuugiou Uncensored.

I know that the staff at SMU have lives, but seriously. They are in their lower to mid twenties, and they have real jobs. I on the other hand am 13. I go to school, have homework, and some free time. There is a difference. They SHOULD shut down the site. They have four years worth of great content, and I think that like Chris Psaros did in 2001, the reasons are just piling up to quit. Again, my working on an anal retentive Uncensored website is common knowledge to my peers, and my best friend even helps around on this site for opinion types of things. I am just wondering if they keep this stuff in the closet for real life. If they do, they really should hang it up.

In my opinion, 13 is one of the BEST ages to run a website. We just have more time on our hands. We aren't going to college, have jobs, girlfriends (besides flirting, of course, and MAYBE going to a movie every now and then), and a huge social circle that would absolutely LAUGH at the idea of doing a website for a show like Yuugiou. Now, I am hoping to continue doing this site for many years to come. I'm talking years. When the day finally comes that I find I really don't have much time to work on the site anymore, or that I have literally NO time, that's when I'll quit. I believe I still have a good half decade at least to continue working on the site.

Hell, I don't think that people are responding that well to the lack of content. In the four years and two months that SMU has been running, they have about 500,000 hits. In just the one and a half year I've been running YGO II, I have 120,000 hits, and am enjoying a recent burst in hits for whatever reason. Over 400 people a day visit YGO II. On this website, there are over 40,000 hits, and quite a few people come here as well. See, I sincerely doubt SMU still gets over four hundred people a day to visit their site. If they do, they should be thanking God right now, because they don't deserve them.

As for the comparisons, they begin coming at you again tomorrow.

JD- You can flame me now.

November 28th, 2004 at 12:04 PM EST Hi everybody. I am now uploading some comparisons that I did back in May and June from actual new episodes during that time. You can check the Battle Ship section in Series for the comparison I've uploaded so far. I am extremely surprised to find out this little fact- at Yuugiou Uncensored II, although I announced my retirement from that site about 3 weeks ago, I am still getting 400+ hits a DAY on said site. I'm going to replace the index page with a redirection to this site, so all 400 of those people each day will be directed here. In other words, this coming week will be the LAST week to view the Yuugiou Uncensored II comparisons on that site.

I hope you pre-ordered the DS, because they got sold out about five minutes after they came in on November the 21st. At my local Circuit City, I asked a clerk when he was getting in new DS shipments out of curiosity, and he said sometime in December or even January. These things are in demand, and will stay that way for a long, long time. I don't even think that the PSP, with its one big screen and movie capabilities can rival the DS in terms of curious people wanting to see what the fuss is about.

I am preparing a Rant on the portable games that are currently popular. Of course, if you want an even more in-depth report than I will offer, wait until the end of the year when Kevin releases his Best/Worst Video Games of 2004.
