Updates

April 30th, 2003

I have finally finished my new editorial, and it is now up to read. Needless to say it’s not a very good (Or useful) piece of writing, but it’s finished, and I promise the next editorial will be much better. For now though enjoy the new editorial, and I’ll try to get the next one done sometime in the next two weeks…although just in case I’d take that two weeks deadline with a grain of salt. And also there’s this movie that is now available at your local video store that I thought was pretty good, yet it did poorly at the box office. So if you want something to rent over the weekend you might want to check it out.

April 28th, 2003 Been awhile since the last update huh? Sorry guys, I meant to update on Saturday but something important came up. I’d love to talk about what came up, but until certain things get finalized I think it would be best if I kept what happened under wraps. Anyway the votes have been tallied, and I have decided to temporarily skip episode 35 and just do 36 (Both of which are up). I’d like to thank the single person who voiced his opinion (Thanks Lance). Anyway with finals coming up updates may not return to a steady pace until summer hits and collage is out, but I’ll still provide you with an episode comparison every now and then (And the next editorial…if I ever get around to finishing it).

Anyway in other news did anyone watch the final episode of “Touched By An Angle” last night? Yes, believe it or not I AM a Christian, and there has been something about this show that has kept me watching it since it premiered in September 1994. This show has been on for about 9 years, and I think I’ll miss it. Like all of the long running shows like “M*A*S*H,” “Home Improvement,” and “Seinfeld,” you don’t realize how much a show becomes part of your life until it’s gone. And almost always the ending is not quite what you expect from it. Maybe it’s because you have high expectations for the final, or maybe you are simply too distraught over the ending of the show to really like the ending, but I walked away “content” with the ending. At least it was better then the ending for “Dragon Ball Z” (Man did that ending suck or what).

That same night “Touched By An Angle” died, a great website died too. That website is “CNX: Toonami.” Run by webmaster Jeff Harris for over five years, yesterday he said his goodbye to the website, while promising a new site was coming. I’m going to miss “CNX: Toonami,” but I understand that all good things must come to an end. So I’d like to wish Jeff good luck in whatever he does after this. So many good things dying makes me never want to close this site down. I know the site is way to young to consider closing, but it made me realize that one day I won’t want to update this site anymore. So what should I do with it? Well I’m not sure, and honestly I’m not even going to bother thinking too much about it, but I’ve been toying around with the idea of giving the site to my son when he’s old enough.

Oh and I know I’m way behind, but Disney has released Hayao Miyazaki’s “Castle In The Sky,” “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” and the Oscar winning “Spirited Away” on VHS and DVD. So you should, you know, go buy them like now. On a final note I picked up the soundtrack to the absolutely average movie “Gods And Generals,” and I can say it is one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever owned. So you should get it. Until next time, this is Kevin signing off.

April 12th, 2003 Late update, but the new episode comparison is finally up! Thank God that’s finished, I was thinking I’d never get around to finishing it! And now I have a new problem, I don’t have the next English episode, although I do have the next ten or so episodes after episode 36. So here’s the dilemma, should I temporarily ship Japanese episode 36 and get back to doing that comparison once I get a copy of the English version, or should I wait until I get the tape for the English version so that I can “properly” do them in order? You decide by sending me a nice e-mail. Remember, you have the voice here…which basically means you can’t complain if you don’t vote (And it should be noted that if no one votes then I get to chose what to do). So vote!

Arpil 6th, 2003 I added something I missed when I updated yesterday. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page to see what it is.

April 5th, 2003 Well it's official: I've officially gotten past my first slump. I've heard about this kind of thing with other websites, where the Webmaster just doesn't update for a long time, until he realizes he misses the site and updates again. That's kind of how I feel, although I must admit that updating again after half a month makes me feel like I just got back from vacation, and the sad thing is I don't really have any site updates aside from this update here. I know, you're probably wondering what I am doing right? Well I'm going to discuss plans for the future of this website, plans I have for a campaign for uncut "Yu-Gi-Oh!," and other stuff that's not really important to talk about, but is still fun to talk about.

I guess I should start with the site huh? Okay, I guess it's becoming a real apparent issue that Geocities isn't working out as well as I was hoping it would. The site is constantly shutting down several times a day because of the number of people visiting, and this is becoming a real apparent problem if comments in my e-mail and guestbook mean anything (And they do). The problem is I'm having a problem at work, and that problem is that I'm getting very few hours, which means lack of income. This week I only got around 12 hours of work, the week before I only got one 3 and a half hour week. My latest paycheck was also a measly $23.78. Needless to say, at this point it's very apparent that I simply cannot afford my own domain for any Internet company.

Not only do I have bills to pay like everyone else, but my broadband service recently raised it's rates...and they are the only one's in my area that provide broadband. Which means if I decide to cancel my subscription with them, I lose my broadband and go back to 56k. And while that sounds easy to do it's not. Broadband has made my life MUCH easier since I got it, and going back to 56k would make my life miserable! Needless to say I'm going to do everything I can to keep it. Now I'm not going to rule out the possibility of getting more bandwidth, it's just not going to happen until at least a couple months. And believe me, I do want to get a plan that would allow me more bandwidth. I think it's extremely annoying to people when they come to my site and it's down, and it's hard to make your cause known when your site closes every five minutes, so once I get some more income I'll look into another site plan.

Also I am planning a huge campaign to bring the first series of "Yu-Gi-Oh" to the USA. I can't give you mush details on it now, but I'm planning something big. So stay tuned. As for fun news anyone play the new Zelda game yet? If you haven't you should, it's awesome! I'm not the biggest fan of the "Legend of Zelda" series, but this game is great so far. Also "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" opened up in a limited release yesterday, so if it's in your area see it with a bunch of friends, spread the word, and then go a second time! Let's try and get this movie lots of money so that it will be released in a wider release...so that I can see it. I swear, Sony put this movie in five different locations in California and not one of those locations is near me! How unlucky. Anyway if you're 18 or older I recommend you see this movie. And for all the kids out there, make sure you see it when you’re older, but while your waiting there is another movie that is worth your time that you'll enjoy.

Also issue five of "Shonen Jump" is now out in stores, and this is the issue fans of the TV show have been waiting for. This is the first card battle in the manga, and you'll discover that even card battles are more extreme in the manga then they are in the TV show. Although if you're a Kaiba fan you might want to skip this, as something...unpleasant happens to Kaiba. Needless to say, card battles in the manga are also more intense and evil then in the TV show. And I still recommend that you guy's check out the manga "Kodocha" if you haven't yet, it's a REALLY good manga, and I'm hoping that someone picks up THAT show for distributation too sometime!

Aside from that all I have to say is I will have a new editorial and/or episode comparison up sometime next week, and until I can find a way to get more bandwidth let's try our best to work through this ordeal. In other words, just consider the first year of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Uncensored" as the beginning. There will be some bumps along the road, and some things might not be complete, but with time this site WILL get better! So until then hang in there, and hopefully sometime this year we'll get that domain name so that this site won't close up anymore. Next time I promise I'll have some actual site content up. Until next time then, have fun.

March 10th, 2003 Quick update here, I've finished reformatting all the old episode comparisons and some of the editorials and stuff. The site is now about 85% reformatted, so soon regular updates will return to normal. But in the mean time I've updated episode 29's comparison with something new. Also OriginalTrilogy.com has finally opened and started their campaign to get the original versions of "Star Wars" on DVD. Go there and show your support. That's all for now, but I'll have new stuff up as soon as I can.

March 6th, 2003 Well it's been a little more then a week now since I last updated, and sadly I still don't have a new episode comparison up...but I promise that I'll have a few up when I get around to posting them. Because I want to get past "The Duelist Kingdom" saga as soon as I can, because at this rate WB will be showing the "Noa" arc soon, so I feel like I'm way behind on the show already. I should also have a new editorial up VERY soon! As for site updates I've redone the design of the main page and a couple of the episodes. I hope things look less crowded now, but if you still have a problem with something just e-mail me and let me know. I'm also getting around to taking down those annoying pop up ads. I'd also like to thank Alan Tse for his very kind e-mail he sent me.

I'm sorry I haven't responded to you yet, but you see I've been terribly busy...and I'm also terribly bad at responding to e-mail. Doesn't mean I've forgotten about you, it just takes me awhile to respond to e-mail. Anyway I'm off to work on a couple of things, but keep checking back and I WILL have new episode comparisons up soon!

February 27th, 2003 I've edited the first two episode comparisons. Now they won't look so crowded or cheap...hopefully. Anyway I've decided to delete the update I made a few days ago after the Webmaster of CCU e-mailed me. This doesn't mean I'm taking back what I said (As I stand by what I said), but I've decided to not to drag the situation on any farther then it's gone. He forgot about the whole thing, so I decided to forget the whole thing. I have some site adjustments to make over the next couple of days so actual content will be rare for a little while. But when I'm finished I'll have two episode comparisons up for you.

Updates from the begining to February 2003
