In response to "The DBZ Cult"
By: UltraSeiya

"Alright, knotheads, I think I’ve had enough of this. Every time I log onto the Internet and start reading something about American DBZ, its not good. It is always insulting FUNimation or something they have done. So I’m angry at DBZ, angry at people and pretty much angry at the entire world. So lets check this out and allow me to vent my feelings.

The DBZ Cult. You got that right buster. The DBZ Cult. See, back in the good old days, everyone enjoyed anything that had anything to do with DBZ. However, you have these pure-minded people that think DBZ in American is the most evil thing ever. To these people, DBZ is no longer a cartoon, its become a religion or a cult. They have final say over anything that has to do with DBZ and if you are wrong, then you are a heathen that should know better. Its these people that really piss me off in the morning.

Trunks. Finally, the Messiah has arrived to American soil and believe it or not, I like him. I believe that my favorite line of his is, “So you’re gonna find out what its like to fight a real Super Saiyan. And I don’t mean Goku!” That is how you write an ass-kicking line. So we get Trunks to America and guess what the DBZ Cult has to say about it? They bitch about it, of course! The two biggest complaints I have heard are King Cold’s voice and music. King Cold’s voice, I liked. It was an evil yet pompous sounding voice. I believe they were trying to recreate Darkness from the movie “Legend”. Darkness was this huge Devil-like creature that was played by Tim Curry. It was an awesome voice. Anyway, to the music. For some reason, there is this song that was supposed to be played when Trunks went Super Saiyan, but they changed it in the American version. I do not know the name of the song, nor do I care, for I have heard it and it sucks. The same people that complained of music being made on synthezisers say that this song is one of the best of all time. The original music sounds like some techno-pop crap that couldn’t make the cut on a Wang Chung album. That, my friends, is a little piece of Webster’s Dictonary that is called “hypocrisy”. When you insult a song made on a synethesizer, yet praise another song created on yet another synthesiser. That is why the DBZ Cult is evil.

FUNimation’s New Website. A site that I like very much, but has been called a load of crap by others. You people say that because you can’t do it yourself. Thats all I got to say about that.

The card game. Already hailed as a game that will suck most rightouesly by some websites. I’ve played it and it isn’t any better than Magic: The Gathering or any other such nonsense.

Well, I think I’ve burned off enough steam for this time. By the way, Emily Nolan (the one that responded to my VegettoEX column), you sound like you got a good head on your shoulders. If you can, catch me online and we can chat.

Until next time,

Well, this looks good. Now then, let's point out the stupidity all here eh?

"Every time I log onto the Internet and start reading something about American DBZ, its not good. It is always insulting FUNimation or something they have done."

Well Mr. FUNi Employee, I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with FUNimation's complete screwing over the dub, the franchise, and the fans. Because as we all know, whatever FUNimation says is right, and whatever the fans say is wrong.

"The DBZ Cult. You got that right buster. The DBZ Cult. See, back in the good old days, everyone enjoyed anything that had anything to do with DBZ. How much research did you put into to discover that? Are you positive that everyone enjoyed English DBZ back when it was first released? I don't see any Church of Dragon Ball Z sites, or cults running around in uniforms raiding FUNimation for their wrong- doings. And unfortunately, otaku have no say over DBZ. I wish they did, because if so the dub probably wouldn't suck as much/at all if so. Also, I'd like to point out your statement:

"DBZ is no longer a cartoon,"

Excuse me. When has DBZ ever been a cartoon? It's Toriyama's work. He spent 11 years working on the damn thing, and later on he hated it. Toei spent the same time on it too. I'm sure if you brought your Uncut VHS Tapes to Toriyama he would be apalled at what FUNimation has done to it.

"Trunks. Finally, the Messiah has arrived to American soil and believe it or not, I like him. I agree on the line, it was pretty good. And I don't remember anybody "bitching about it". In fact, of all the feedback of Trunks and his voice, most of it was positive. Most likely because there was no voice for Vale to imitate, but that's beside the point. The point is nobody complained about it, so don't exaggerate these things.

"The two biggest complaints I have heard are King Cold’s voice and music. King Cold’s voice, I liked. It was an evil yet pompous sounding voice. He sounded like an overacting moronic idiot trying to imitate the British. I didn't find his voice evil or awesome, I found it stupid.

"Anyway, to the music. For some reason, there is this song that was supposed to be played when Trunks went Super Saiyan, but they changed it in the American version. Gee, I'm totally convinced! I know, we all hate Faulconer's music because it's synthe- sized! It doesn't matter how good the song was, just the instrument it was played on. I haven't heard the song (yet), but I plan to and I'm sure it's going to kick the collective ass of Faulconer's music. You see, we complain about the English music because Faulconer took Mr. Fluffles and threw it on a synthesizer. He doesn't know how to make music on a synthesizer, but the Japanese clearly do (again, I haven't heard the song but I know Spirit vs. Spirit is synthesized and it's GODLY). I only wish FUNimation told him to get his ass out've FUNimation Studios, because they agree with me and many of us - his music sucks. My, I'm getting pretty off-topic here.

"FUNimation’s New Website. A site that I like very much, but has been called a load of crap by others. You people say that because you can’t do it yourself. Thats all I got to say about that."

I've never seen FUNimation's "New" Website, so I can't make any comment on this, but I'll admit their current one is pretty good... minus the lack of updates that is.

"The card game. Already hailed as a game that will suck most rightouesly by some websites. I’ve played it and it isn’t any better than Magic: The Gathering or any other such nonsense."

Never played, so I can't make any comment on this either. But, what does the card game have to do with anything? It's merchandise, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't care if they called it FluffyCatZ TCG and put pictures of kittens on every card, it's how the Anime is treated that matters.

It's funny how FUNimation Employees blatantly make themselves look like idiots, and then present it online for everyone to see. They always tend to use the same arguements, clumsily word their opinions, and then expect everyone to follow every word they say. Well, I guess the saying goes, the money is always right. But the fans are too, and if you didn't think inside the box you'd realize this and get your act together and dub this series properly, which is what we want.

Ultraseiya signing out.

Note that the format might be screwed up, I did this in Notepad.

EDIT: Oh crap, am I supposed to send this?
