The theme of this website is competition anime because I love how those series affect me. I get pulled in by the story and the bishonen. Then the games reel me in the rest of the way. When I am in the middle of such series, I have many sleepless nights trying to watch as much as I can at once. When I watched Slam Dunk, I found myself yelling for Ryota to pass to Rukawa. I screamed for every score. I almost cried when Shohoku lost one of their games. When I watched Initial D, even though I knew that Takumi was the main character and therefore could not lose, I still had my face really close to my computer/tv screen yelling for him to win. I am finishing up Hajime no Ippo. I only have the OVA to go. I was so into Ippo that I screamed during one of his fights. While watching Prince of Tennis, Tezuka's game against the other captain put me through the ringer. And then there was Grappler Baki. All I can say about Baki is, "Damn, the giant ape ate his own eye!"

Jobby job!

Day one of my internship at Funimation. I didn't do much, but I still had fun. It was a sort of orientation. Lance, my boss, showed me around and had me make these Kiddy Grade information books. This took like 3 hours because the books were so big. My real work on the Operation Anime site starts Monday.

A funny thing that happened today though was that this kid came in. Apparently he was staying at a nearby hotel with his family for Thanksgiving. The hotel told him where Funi was. I turn around from my computer and see this kid. The other intern, Hunter, was showing him around reluctantly. I talked a bit with the kid and then Hunter gave him a mini tour. A few minutes later, another employee of Funi came in complaining about this kid that just showed up. He said the kid was standing around and then just went in through the glass doors to the corporate office. No one there was going to tell the kid to leave flat out, but they needed to get rid of him because they were all really busy. That's when he got dumped on Hunter. The kid came back to the marketing office where I was a few minutes later. He got two Dragon Ball GT DVDs and was sent on his way back to his hotel. Everyone was really nice to the kid, but it was awkward having him there.

Dude, I have a blog

Yar! I have my website up finally. *does a dance* I figure, "Hey, everyone and his mom has a web journal. Why don't I?" Well wonder no longer, wondering brain for now I have a "blog." This website, since I'm paying for it after all, will be more than my blog. It will also house my reviews/rants of anime I watch, stuff I draw, stuff I own, pictures I take at cons, whatever. I may have some downloadable thingies on here too using bit torrent. Lots of cool stuff has happened to me lately. First, I got sweet Slam Dunk trading cards from my friend, Eric. I'll scan them and put them on here. I read the Yu Gi Oh manga for the first time and found it to be pretty sweet. I saw the Casa Bonita episode of South Park. Oh, and I got an internship at Funimation. Dude, I'm so stoked. I have wanted to work there since I found out the place was than 10 minutes from my house. I drive by it every day. Since this is my inaugurative post, I'll make it nice and long by talking about the status of the internship. I got an email from their brand manager, Lance. His job is awesome. He gets to go to cons for Funimation for free. He told me that there were internships in the marketing department at Funi. I jumped on the chance and sent him my resume. I went to my interview on Monday. It was the most fun interview I have ever been to. My interview went more like a conversation between friends. I all ready knew Lance because I have had to get stuff from Funi for AnimeUTA, the anime club I am in. Anyway, Lance explained what I would be doing at Funi. Then he asked me a couple questions. They weren't even interview type questions. He asked me how I got into anime and what anime I liked. Then we started talking about new series and then he said that I pretty much had the job. I'm telling you, best interview ever! There's one problem though. I have to wait. The vice president of Funi, Cindy Fukunaga, has been sick since Monday. I can't get approved for the job until she says it's ok. Once she gets back, Lance will talk to her, she'll give her ok and then I'll have my internship. After I get my internship started, I'm quitting my job at UTA. I don't want to leave Kira, who is also in AnimeUTA, all alone so I'm hoping she gets hired at Funi too. Hell, I hope all my friends get hired there. They are still hiring more interns so just send your resume to them.
